In order to qualify, you have to be really good at diving. People who train for Olympic sports train for many years. Then you have to go to an official Olympic qualification places found at a few locations in each country. Then you must do good enough to qualify. It is not going to be easy.
References :
In the United States, in order to qualify for the Olympic Team, you have to attend the Olympic Team Trials. This usually occurs in late june and the Olympic Team has a camp in July and selects the members.

I used to be a junior national diver (under 18). If you are under 18, you can still compete in the Junior National competitions that are held throughout the year. In the summer, is regionals (10 regions), then zones (5), then nationals. The divers that I saw this Olympics I once competed against in the 18 and under category, but they usually dominated the competition, so they also dive at the Senior Level. Senior divers can qualify for the Olympics and their age ranges usually are between 16 and 28. Students that are 18 and over usually dive both in college and for the Senior Level. Colleges known for great diving programs include Indiana, Texas, Georgia, Iowa.
References :
www.usadiving.org/

to qualify for the olympics, you must compete at your country's olympic trials. for canada, i know that the top two for each event (3m springboard, tower, 3m synchro and tower synchro) get to go to the olympics. but again, to compete and the trials, you must qualify based on your results from other competitions. basically you need to be competing nationally and be one of the best.

i would first recommend finding a club in your area and contact them about lessons
if you live in the states, go to www.usadiving.org , if you live in canada go to diving.ca and if you live anywhere else just google your national diving association
References :
former competitive diver
